OPGW - Power Transmision Lines
OPGW Fiber Cable Splicing
Splice Optical Ground Wire- (OPGW) B&M Telecom technicians have years of experience in OPGW splicing practices and procedures. We have equipment and crews to take on virtually any aerial fiber project.
ADSS Fiber Optic Cable Splicing
B&M Telecom technicians are knowledgeable in the placement, splicing and testing of All-Dielectric-Self-Supporting aerial cables. We can handle any of your aerial splicing needs.
Broadband over Powerline (BPL) Fiber Optics
B&M has worked with Current Communications (Oncor) on their broadband-over-power project for the Dallas, TX market. In building a network of fiber rings designed to monitor electric power usage and carry broadband optical services, our goal is to be a part of working on all emerging technologies within the fiber optic industry.
Smart Grid Fiber Optic Cabling
Smart Grids are a new energy control system that allow for remote monitoring and control of the energy grid. It can also be deployed to provide BPL (broadband over power line) internet access.
B&M Telecom has performed two major smart grid projects. One in the Dallas, TX area and one in the Boulder CO area. Both projects consisted of splicing ADSS cable hung in the power zone of the aerial pole lines. Each project consisted of backbone interconnect and back haul point splice locations on a large scale. The Dallas network consisted of over 3000 splice location and the Boulder network contained over 1000 splice locations. B&M Telecom managed a team of in-house and sub-contract splicers to complete these projects. We also performed the fiber splicing engineering plans on these projects as well as all of the testing and documentation.

Project Engineering & Management
B&M Telecom has a vast history of taking on large fiber optic projects and managing all splicing, testing and documentation aspects. Some of our larger projects included Fiber to the Home in the Grapevine, Irving, and Rowlett, Texas areas where we were managing in-house and sub-contract splicers, throughout. We have also performed the same level of management on the Smart Grid projects and added splicing design and engineering into the mix. Our capabilities and experience allow us to take on huge projects no matter where in the US they are located.
In addition, our company has also managed all aspects of design, construction, installation, and splicing on multiple projects. We can offer a turn-key solution using in-house and subcontract professionals.
Single & Ribbon Splicing
B&M Telecom technicians work daily in the networks of our customers to bring fast and reliable service for all of their splicing needs. B&M Telecom has a fully competent staff of experienced fiber technicians able to handle any splicing project put before them. Our experienced personnel have been in almost every fiber cable situation imaginable. B&M technicians are experienced in both aerial and underground construction methods of cable placement, splicing and testing. All of our work is completion tested and thoroughly documented upon project completion. From active system cutovers on transport and distribution fibers to the newest cell tower based information technologies, our goal is to stay the leader in fiber based communication splicing.
Reel Testing
B&M technicians perform pre and post-placement fiber certification of both single and multimode fiber cables. The fiber pretest checks the quality of the fiber shipped from the manufacturer on the reel and the fiber post test looks for abnormalities in the fiber created during the placement process.
Testing & Documentation
B&M understands the importance of records, so much so that we have a staff dedicated to performing testing, analysis and documentation. This is one of many aspects of our company that set us apart from the rest.
We can perform and provide as little or as much testing and documentation as our customers desire, from just a power meter test all the way to high end full fiber characterization testing. One thing is for sure, we test everything we do because it is our responsibility to provide the best services possible. Our goal is to make sure we are providing the best quality product available.

In order to assure quality, we have established our internal specifications to be followed on all projects. These standards are a result of years of experience and are designed to meet or exceed the standards of any and all of our customers.
