LAN/WAN Fiber cabling

Our in-depth knowledge attained from years of building campus projects has given B&M technicians the ability to take care of any area based networking solution. B&M Local Area Network/Wide Area Network projects include academic, business and industrial campuses providing fiber & copper connectivity for our customers.

Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) - Smart Highway

Smart Highway/ITS networks create a communication path for information, safety and control of the busiest highways. Since the early 1990's B&M Telecom has worked numerous Smart Highway projects throughout Texas. We have spliced, tested and documented systems for CCTV Cameras, RSVD vehicle sensing radar, DMS message boards, Toll Booths and Gantries, as well as connectivity for the roadway owners' internal monitoring and data systems.

CATV Fiber Optic Cabling

B&M Telecom assists our customers in taking the guess work out of their fiber relocation projects. We provide existing plant cable as-building, fiber path diagrams, proposed fiber relocation drawings, and splicing diagrams needed to complete fiber relocation projects.

Fiber Connectorization

B&M Telecom technicians can install singlemode and multimode connectors and fan out assemblies on all inside and outside plant (ISP and OSP) cables. All of our work is scoped and completion tested for quality assurance. We have worked with all types of fiber connectorization, including mechanical and epoxy.

Emergency Restoration of Fiber Cabling

Networks require timely repairs at the occurrence of a fiber outage. B&M technicians take part in all aspects of the restoration process - from the initial troubleshooting of down network fibers, to calculating damage location points, to the final restoration splicing and testing. Our experience and knowledge allow us to assist in restoration planning. Throughout our 23 years we have never missed an onsite deadline for emergency response.

Project Engineering & Management

B&M Telecom personnel cover many different aspects of project management for our customers; including site access and planning, MOP preparation, material acquisition, plant as-building, fiber installation, and splicing path design. We add resources through subcontractors, inspection and management on larger projects. B&M provides revised splice designs and engineering for network fiber transitions to optimize the fiber potential and usage. Our customers rely on the experience and attention to detail that B&M brings to the fiber build process.

Single & Ribbon Fiber Cable Splicing

B&M Telecom technicians work daily in the networks of our customers to bring fast and reliable service for all of their splicing needs. B&M Telecom has a fully competent staff of experienced fiber technicians able to handle any splicing project put before them. Our experienced personnel have worked in almost every fiber cable situation imaginable. B&M technicians are experienced in both aerial and underground construction methods of cable placement, splicing and testing. All of our work is completion tested and thoroughly documented upon project completion. From active system cutovers on transport and distribution fibers to the newest cell tower based information technologies, our goal is to stay the leader in fiber based communication splicing.

Testing & Documentation

B&M understands the importance of records, so much so that we have a staff dedicated to performing testing, analysis and documentation. This is one of many aspects of our company that set us apart from the rest.

We can perform and provide as little or as much testing and documentation as our customers desire, from just a power meter test all the way to high end full fiber characterization testing. One thing is for sure, we test everything we do because it is our responsibility to provide the best services possible. Our goal is to make sure we are providing the best quality product available.

In order to assure quality, we have established our internal specifications to be followed on all projects. These standards are a result of years of experience and are designed to meet or exceed the standards of any and all of our customers.

Fiber Optic Cable Reel Testing

B&M technicians perform pre and post-placement fiber certification of both single and multimode fiber cables. The fiber pretest checks the quality of the fiber on the reel shipped from the manufacturer and the fiber post test looks for abnormalities in the fiber created during the placement process.
