ITS Smart Highway

Smart Highway/ITS networks create a communication path for information, safety and control of the busiest highways. Since the early 1990's B&M Telecom has worked numerous Smart Highway projects throughout Texas. We have spliced, tested and documented systems for CCTV Cameras, RSVD vehicle sensing radar, DMS message boards, Toll Booths and Gantries, as well as connectivity for the roadway owners' internal monitoring and data systems.

Connectorization

B&M Telecom technicians can install singlemode and multimode connectors and fan out assemblies on all ISP and OSP cables. All of our work is scoped and completion tested for quality assurance. We have worked with all types of fiber connectorization, including mechanical and epoxy.

Emergency Restoration

B&M Telecom is a primary emergency restoration contractor for many of the long haul network providers and our location in Mansfield, TX gives us the ability to cover many states with our services. Our restoration services include damaged fiber troubleshooting, temp and replacement cable splicing, and full span testing of completed splicing repairs.

Project Engineering & Management

B&M Technicians have provided coordinated splicing and testing services on long haul networks with full splicing documentation upon project completion. B&M has had the privilege of splicing and testing some of the finest network long haul builds in the United States.

Single & Ribbon Fiber Splicing

B&M technicians are proficient in long haul network splicing in both the single and ribbon fusion splicing methods. Our fully competent staff of experienced fiber technicians is able to handle any splicing project put before them. Our personnel are experienced in both aerial and underground construction methods of cable placement, splicing and testing. B&M Telecom’s experienced personnel have been in almost every fiber cable situation imaginable. Upon project completion all of our work is completion-tested and thoroughly documented.

Fiber Cable Reel Testing

B&M technicians perform pre and post-placement fiber certification of both single and multimode fiber cables. The fiber pretest checks the quality of the fiber shipped from the manufacturer on the reel and the fiber post test looks for abnormalities in the fiber created during the placement process.

Testing & Documentation

B&M understands the importance of records, so much so that we have a staff dedicated to performing testing, analysis and documentation. This is one of many aspects of our company that set us apart from the rest.

We can perform and provide as little or as much testing and documentation as our customers desire, from just a power meter test all the way to high end full fiber characterization testing. One thing is for sure, we test everything we do because it is our responsibility to provide the best services possible. Our goal is to make sure we are providing the best quality product available.

B&M technicians have built many projects for rural utility concerns and our knowledge in the field of telephone co-op splicing comes from over 23 years of providing quality splicing services to them. Each project is completed with full fiber test documentation to verify the quality and workmanship we put into our work. These services are the roots and first offering of B&M.
